Once known for being Tyrese's backup singer and songwriter for Chris Brown and Keri Hilson, Luke James proves that it's his time in the spotlight in his latest video, 'I.O.U.'

Set in the Big Apple, this New Orleans native shows his leading lady some southern hospitality in the smooth R&B ballad.

From riding the subway together and partying it up in the club, James doesn't hold back from showing the love he has for his video sweetheart in 'I.O.U.' Although it is a pretty romantic visual, the two do some naughty things like joyriding on bikes stolen off the street or writing graffiti on a storefront.

And although the crooner delivers lyrics like, “Honey dipped kisses, you grant all my wishes / You rescued me every time / You saved my life,” we find him running away from the authorities when his girlfriend essentially is found chatting with some undercover cops.

Despite what she did, the video ends with "To be continued...", giving a hint to fans that we'll probably see more from this storyline.

James is currently at work on his debut LP with producer Danja. The effort is set to release at some point this year.
