After years of speculating about the potential death of R&B, fans of the genre are seeing a shift in the winds. Newcomer Janine and the Mixtape is prepping to become one of the newest artists working hard to breathe new life into rhythm and blues.

The New Zealand native has released a clip for the song 'Cold Out,' which actually won't be getting any shine on her upcoming debut mixtape, 'Dark Mind,' nonetheless, the video should add on to growing anticipation for the full project.

Having already garnered some attention from the song 'Bullets,' people are patiently waiting on the Brooklyn-based singer-producer-songwriter to make her mark on the industry, but in the meantime, 'Cold Out' will have to do.

The melancholy feel of the video fits the mood of the song. The clip features Janine looking out of a train window, watching the rain fall, as the minimalistic thump of the beat and the haunting tone of the lyrics play the background. Reminiscent of something from the October's Very Own crew, Janine makes the "emo" feel her own here.
