George Clinton Leaves Colorful Hair Home, Jams With Parliament Funkadelic at B.B. King Blues Club in New York City
What better way to commemorate the day before Lent than with some sinful funk? George Clinton and the Parliament Funkadelic sure know how to bring the house down as they played one heck of a groovy show last night (Feb. 12) at B.B. King Blues Club.
At the ripe age of 71 years old, Clinton got hips shaking as the crowd danced and raised their horns to their favorite harmonious tunes. The band as a whole had infectious energy and their sheer agility and unyielding force onstage is a sight to see for anyone who holds funk, soul and blues close to their heart.
Clinton and the P-Funk performed fan favorites such as ‘One Nation Under a Groove,’ ‘Atomic Dog,’ ‘Knee Deep,’ ‘Flashlight’ and numerous other soulful songs that the fans know and love.
The only minor letdown was that Clinton did not don his infamous colorful hair but he still looked stylish while rocking a slick black suit and classic fedora.
From the vivacious backup singers to the shred happy guitarists to the speedy drummer and the rest of the members of the Parliament Funkadelic, they turned a regular old Tuesday night into the energy of a weekend extravaganza.
