Fantasia Will ‘Lose to Win’ on New Single
Singer Fantasia is back with a new single, 'Lose to Win.' The track samples a classic tune from the Commodores.
On the song, which takes from the 1985 Commodores classic 'Nightshift,' the one-time 'American Idol' winner streams thoughts of letting go of a man who's holding her back -- even though it's hard. She knows it's for the best though. "Sometimes you got to lose to win again," Fantasia sings on the hook.
Recently the Grammy-award winning singer opened up about dropping a new album in March of next year. Her new sound, which she coins as "rock soul," is inspired by the variety of music she listened to as a kid.
"I grew up on good music," she told Hip Hollywood. "Not only just R&B artists. I grew up on Elton John, Aerosmith, Queen, Billy Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald. All of these different types of music, so I feel like I don't want to be boxed in anymore in just one type of music."
Her new track has a dominant R&B sound, but it'll be refreshing to hear what's to come on her new project.
