The ongoing violence in Chicago has claimed the life of another hometown rapper. Capo, who is a member of Chief Keef’s Glo Gang crew, was shot and killed on Saturday (July 11).

While details are scarce, Fake Shore Drive reports that the shooting took place at around 1:40 p.m. in the South Shore neighborhood of Chicago. Capo, whose real name is Marvin Carr, was rushed to Advocate Christ Medical Center where he later died.

There’s a video circulating on the internet of Capo on the ground, surrounded by a pool of blood after being shot. In the clip, several bystanders are talking to Capo with the hopes that it will keep him awake. Unfortunately, it didn’t help.

Even more tragic, a 1-year-old child was struck and killed by a car the assailants were driving in as they were fleeing from the shooting. The family was waiting on the bus to take their young child to a family outing. Police confirmed they have arrested two men who were in the vehicle and they might still be searching for a third suspect.

Meanwhile, fellow Chicago rhymer Lil Durk went on Instagram and posted a photo of Capo and captioned it, “Rest up my boi we was just saying how otf and gbe back in it crazy as hell keep yall head up no limit.”

Rapper Fredo Santana also sent out an elegiac tweet to Capo. He wrote: “My brother gone. Rip capo I love you bro.”

We send our heartfelt condolences to all of the families who were affected by this senseless act of violence.
