BJ the Chicago Kid – Must-See Artists At SXSW

BJ the Chicago Kid dropped his debut album, ‘Pineapple Now-Laters’ in 2012, but he’s no newcomer. He's been working his way through the music industry, starting off as a background singer for the likes of Usher and Mary Mary, and also penning songs for Musiq Soulchild and Jill Scott.

The Chi-town native has been ready to take the scene solo and the time is now, as he signed to Motown Records before 2012 ended. He's currently working on a follow-up to his debut LP. Until then, catch him serenading fans onstage at SXSW during the BET and ASCAP Music Matters showcase hosted by Yahoo!.
