Brandy has been through many trials since those baby-faced days when she was considered a teenage superstar and one of "America's sweethearts." Back in 2001, she admitted to lying about being married to her now ex-boyfriend and father of her 10-year-old daughter, Sy'rai, to save her picture-perfect image. Then in December 2006, she was involved in a fatal car accident that left her feeling depressed.

Between record label changes and also losing her mentor Whitney Houston on her birthday this year, Brandy's sixth studio LP, 'Two Eleven,' is more than just a comeback, it's a mark of her tenacity. The humble songbird also took risks, allowing her younger R&B counterparts to pen songs for her -- among them Chris Brown for 'Put It Down' and Frank Ocean, who wrote 'Scared of Beautiful.' After four years, music welcomed Brandy's return to the spotlight.
