Big Boi Undergoes Leg Surgery, Reschedules Shoes for Running Tour Dates
Rapper Big Boi is down for the count. The OutKast member has postponed dates on his Shoes for Running tour after injuring his knee earlier this week.
Sir Luscious Left Foot tore his left patella while performing at a May 26 concert in Illinois. As a result, he'll no longer perform many June dates on his tour, reports Billboard.
The 'Shutterbug' rapper posted a picture on his Tumblr of him in a wheelchair, following knee surgery at Atlanta Sports medicine. According to Big Boi, he will be out for six weeks while his leg heals up.
But he seems to be taking his recovery in stride. The 'Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors' creator later posted photos of himself recuperating at home with his leg propped up on a chair.
"Shout out to the good folks at Game Ready and my Orthopedic surgeon 6 weeks then we back outchea #shoesforrunning," he wrote.
As for the Shoes for Running tour, all the June tour dates will be rescheduled to September.
This bit of news comes just a day after Big Boi's OutKast partner Andre 3000 lost his mother, Sharon Benjamin-Hodo, who died at age 58.
We send get-well wishes and condolences to Big Boi and Three Stacks, respectively. Keep your heads up, fellas.
