Crime: Murder
According to various reports, Young Vito and fellow rapper Slim Dunkin allegedly got into an argument over a piece of candy on Dec. 16, 2011. And while there are not too many details regarding the dispute, it ended with Slim Dunkin shot and dead. The authorities followed Young Vito for 10 days as he was the primary suspect. Then on Dec. 26, the 28-year-old Atlanta rapper turned himself in. This isn’t Young Vito’s first run-in with the law. He’s previously been charged with aggravated assault, child cruelty and carrying an illegally concealed gun.

Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes

Crime: Arson
Lovers’ quarrels come and go. However, for Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes and her boyfriend, Andre Rison, who was a then wide receiver for the Atlanta Falcons, it could all end up in flames. On June 9, 1994, the late TLC member set fire to Rison’s Atlanta home by dousing his things in lighter fluid and lighting them up in his bath tub. She also smashed a Toyota and two Mercedes-Benz cars parked outside the $861,000 house. She turned herself in the following day and was arrested. She was then released after posting $75,000 bail. She later pleaded guilty to first-degree arson and was sentenced to five years probation, a $10,000 fine and rehab.

Crime: Second-Degree Assault
Arguments with our parents aren't too uncommon, especially as we grow up. However, Mario took it a step further in October 2010, when he allegedly started breaking furniture and put a hole in the closet door of their shared Baltimore apartment. He was also accused of shoving his mother "eight feet into a living room wall," which caused her to hit her head. The two haven't had the easiest mother-son relationship. It has been reported that the 'Let Me Love You' singer has confronted his mother for her heroin addiction, which was later documented on MTV's 'I Won't Love You to Death' in 2007. He was released on a $50,000 bond.

Music videos have shown us that making it rain is a time for celebration. But for Trey Songzit got him arrested. When the 'Chapter V' artist started to throw money at dancers in a New York strip club during the wee hours of the morning on Aug. 22, 2012, one of the bills apparently caused an injury. "Tremaine Neverson, did throw a sum of United States currency at the complainant and said sum of United States currency struck the complainant's left eye causing substantial pain to her left eye," according to police reports.

Crime: Assault with a deadly weapon and battery
Flavor Flav, born William J. Drayton, and Elizabeth Trujillo have been engaged for eight years. But instead of swapping wedding bands, Trujillo got him thrown in jail. On Oct. 17, 2012, in Las Vegas, the couple got into an argument that escalated to Flav throwing his fiancee to the ground on two separate occasions, ripping out her earring and even roughing up her son when he tried to break up the flight. As it continued, Flav grabbed two knives eventually cutting his finger with one. He sat in jail till he posted the $23,000 bail for all charges two days later.

Crime: Second-degree murder
When Master P's younger brother C-Murder, born Corey Miller, got into an argument with 16-year-old Steve Thomas at a New Orleans nightclub on Jan. 12, 2002, things didn't end with a truce. Police reported that Miller shot and killed Thomas. Miller went through a series of trials over the course of seven years. In 2003, he was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison. The Louisiana Supreme Court overturned the verdict in 2006, and he went on house arrest. In May 2009, Miller pleaded no contest to second-degree murder charges after pointing a gun at a Baton Rouge bouncer in 2001.

Crime: Multiple counts of child pornography
After news spread about his marriage to the late Aaliyah, many wondered if R. Kelly really did just like them young. And on June 5, it seemed that the rumors were true when Kelly was arrested on multiple counts of child pornography after a video was released that allegedly showed him having sex with an underaged girl. According to police, the video was recorded sometime between November 1997 and February 1998, and the young female was born in September 1984, which would have made her 13 at the time. But after more than six years, a jury declared Kelly not guilty of all charges.

Crime: Involuntary manslaughter, two counts of aggravated assault and possession of instrument in crime
On April 15, 2005, Cassidy and two other men armed with multiple firearms fired on three other guys during a dispute in the rapper’s Philadelphia neighborhood. In the end, Desmond Hawkins, 22, was shot in the back and died. Cassidy was wanted for murder in June and turned himself in. He was charged with murder, attempted murder and reckless endangerment, among other crimes. In January 2006, a Philly judge declared Cassidy guilty of involuntary manslaughter and two counts of aggravated assault and possession of an instrument used in the crime. After completing his eighth month in jail, he was released on parole. However, Cassidy was arrested again in May 2011, for not checking in with the agent in charge of his parole.

Crime: Criminal trespassing, discharging a weapon near a street, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and fleeing or attempting to elude a police offer
In 2008, after having a fight with his ex-girlfriend, who's also the mother of his two children, Lyfe Jennings, born Chester Bamsu Jennings, drove to her house and started firing rounds from a .40-caliber gun towards the home. When police arrived, he forced them to chase him around Symra, Ga., till he crashed, which is pretty obvious in this photo. After taking him into custody, he refused to take a sobriety test. Two years later, Jennings was found guilty of the charges and sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison. He was released last year.

James 'Jimmy Henchman' Rosemond

Crime: Murder for hire, heading cocaine trafficking ring
James "Jimmy Henchman" Rosemond was initially known to the hip-hop world as the go-to talent agent. Helping artists like Game find success, this music mogul had other projects that put him behind bars. In June 2011, U.S. Marshalls arrested him for heading up the transport of hundreds of kilos of cocaine from Los Angeles to New York City. Additionally, Rosemond added to his drug charges when he was arrested on a murder-for-hire charge for the death of Lowell "Lodi Mack" Fletcher in 2009. Due to cases against him, he could be sentenced to the death penalty. Rosemond is currently awaiting his sentence.
