10 Tragic Hip-Hop Deaths: Magnolia Shorty

Two years ago, Cash Money rapper Magnolia Shorty, born Renetta Lowe, was identified as one of the victims in a shocking double homicide in New Orleans.

The 28-year-old bounce music specialist was shot multiple times before the car she was riding in crashed into the gate of an apartment complex on Dec. 20, 2010. She and the driver of the car, Jerome Hampton, were pronounced dead on the scene.

While 24-year-old Brandon Singleton was named by cops as a person of interest in her murder, Magnolia Shorty's death still remains a mystery. She was prepping her sophomore effort under Cash Money head honcho Birdman's tutelage when she was killed.
