R&B sensation Tinashe is not resting on her laurels as she continues to put the finishing touches on her upcoming sophomore album, Joyride. Unfortunately, an unreleased song called “Secret” leaked online much to the songbird’s chagrin.

Produced DJ Mustard, who also blessed Tinashe with her smash single, “2 On,” the ballad may be even more indelible than her current signature outing that has crossover hit written all over.

Singing “In the bed on a Wednesday, next to my baby, hoping that it ain’t you calling / Cause I don’t wanna explain why there’s an next-man calling me at four in the morning / I can tell you’re a friend but baby then again, we doing a little more than talking / Since the day that I met ya’, didn’t wanna like ya’, can’t believe how much I’ve fallen’,” Tinashe wastes little time grabbing the listeners ear and commandeers the track within seconds of you pressing play.

“Keep it inside, I swear from the beginning that I tried / Can’t decide, I never act this way, got too much pride” Tinashe purrs while fighting against her urges to spill the beans about her forbidding love. Centered around the 22-year-old singer’s being caught between a rock and a hard place after unexpectedly catching feelings for a guy while already being committed to someone else, “Secret” sees Tinashe hitting on all cylinders and sounding like the star many critics projected her to be early on.

Lines like “This little secret, we’ve gotta keep it / W’eve got a lot to lose, we’ve got a lot to lose” are innocent, yet suggestive enough to hit home with anyone juggling various romances. Being naughty never sounded so nice.

Although the song will not be on Tinashe’s Joyride album, she did express concern over the leak on her Twitter account. Read her tweets below.
