After winning Album of the Year at the Grammys two years in a row, Stevie did not release an album with the intentions of scoring the accolade once more.

But his 18th album, 'Songs in the Key of Life,' became his third charm, taking the award in 1977.

This effort shows progression in Stevie's style and delivery. He departed from his singular production style on 'Songs in the Key of Life' and brought on more musicians to make the project come alive.

There are several well-known records that come from this project including 'Sir Duke,' a No. 1 single; 'Pastime Paradise,' which has been sampled by many hip-hop artists; and 'Isn't She Lovely,' which features a recording of his newborn daughter's voice.
