There was no one who even remotely sounded like Snoop Dogg in the early 1990s, but when he dropped his debut 'Doggystyle,' the rapper personified what an L.A. emcee was.

Snoop was superb as a new artist -- he was laid-back and clever with the lyrics but it was his pairing with Dr. Dre on every track and their chemistry that put his first offering on another level.

'Gin & Juice' was like hearing California through your speakers. Snoop flowed easily over the track, telling tales of debauchery -- all between "rolling down the street smoking indo, sipping on gin and juice."
