ScHoolboy Q's 'Collard Greens' was a great track and Kendrick Lamar's lesson in Spanish vulgarities is a welcomed one. But one thing Q is more skilled at than anyone in Black Hippy (yes, even King Kendrick) is making bangers. 'Habits & Contradictions' had its fair share of them, and now ScHoolboy Q releases the first one off his forthcoming LP, 'Oxymoron.'

The song's intent is just as blunt as its title, 'Banger (MOSHPIT).' It's malicious. Faces grimace and snarl as the cymbals crash and the guitar strums chug the bombastic beat along. This is a violent atmosphere that ScHoolboy Q traverses with near childlike glee on the hook, which composes of gargling ad-libs and an ominous repetition of the hook.

The hook-verse content plays too well into the album's title. While ScHoolboy Q is playful on the hook, he's unmistakably deadly in lines like, "You're stuck missing now homie finna breeze / These bullets burning gon' be hard for you to breathe / These bullets burning damn near possible to bleed."

The Top Dawg Entertainment signee has always been an unpredictable figure. Unfortunately, the release date for 'Oxymoron' follows that same trait. TDE CEO Anthony "Top Dawg" Tiffith explains that the label is going to have to get through some sample clearance issues before the rapper's album can get a proper release date.
