Singer Roberta Flack was the first artist in Grammy history to win Record of the Year two consecutive years in a row.

In 1972, she brought back a 1957 folk song titled 'The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face' and covered it with her own soulful vocals. The song became her first win in the category.

The following year, Roberta returned as the winner of Record of the Year with the hit 'Killing Me Softly With His Song.' The tune went No. 1 in America, U.K. and Canada and was re-popularized with a hip-hop remake by the Fugees in 1996.
