R&B Music Hall of Fame Museum Finds Home in Detroit
Now the Motor City will be home to the new R&B Music Hall of Fame Museum, according to Eurweb.com. Just like rock musicians have the opportunity to be honored in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, R&B artists will have a home where they can be enshrined at the top of their careers.
The inaugural R&B Music Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held Sept. 21, 2013 at the Detroit Opera House. This year’s class of 2013 include Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, James Brown, the Temptations, the O’Jays, Martha Reeves & the Vandellas and many other soul legends. The tickets will go on sale June 1, 2013 at the theater.
The R&B Music Hall of Fame Museum will also celebrate gospel with the Gospel Music & Preachers Hall of Fame Museum and honor music’s biggest rap artists through the Hip Hop Museum of America.
A permanent establishment is planned for mid-2015. In the meantime, a temporary home for the museum will be built within the next two months.
