There were plenty of surprises at the 2013 Hot 97 Summer Jam concert on Sunday (June 2). But Papoose stole the show with his uninvited appearance following a break in Kendrick Lamar's set.

The self-proclaimed "King of New York" bum rushed the stage after Lamar finished to perform 'Get at Me' with producer Ron Browz. The Brooklyn rhyme-slinger ended his set by asking the crowd to chant "Free Remy." For those who don't know, Remy Ma, who is Papoose's wife, is currently incarcerated and is expected to be released from prison next year.

However, Hot 97 program director "old man" Ebro didn't know that Papoose was going to hit the stage.

It was later revealed by Hot 97 radio jock Peter Rosenberg that Lamar's label, TDE Entertainment, asked Pap to perform as a favor since he's supported K.Dot for a number of years.

"When I saw them [TDE] at the venue, I go, 'So that's really happening?' And he's like, 'Listen, Pap's looked out for Kendrick for a long time,'" said Rosenberg.

"We know Kay Slay's relationship with Top Dawg, that it's OG hood favor," added Hot 97 morning show host Cipha Sounds.

Hopefully, Papoose will come on Hot 97 to explain himself.
