There’s an old proverb that says “blood is thicker than water” and Nicki Minaj has proven that by bailing out her brother, Jelani Maraj, who has been charged with allegedly raping a 12-year-old girl.

According to court documents obtained by the New York Post, the rap superstar put up the $100,000 bond to get her 37-year-old sibling out of jail. Maraj is was charged with first-degree rape and first-degree sexual conduct against the preteen.

The newspaper reports that the bond is funded by two homes that Minaj owns, one of which her brother uses and the other property by her mother, Carol.

“She was prepared to do anything for her brother,” an insider told the NYPost.

Had the bail been higher, and prosecutors demanded $500,000 in bond, Minaj was ready to offer a letter of credit from a California bank account worth in excess of $2 million, according to a source.

Maraj is due back in court on Dec. 9. Reps for Nicki Minaj had no comment on the matter.
