Nicki Minaj came out on top last night at the People's Choice Awards, winning Favorite Hip-Hop Artist at the ceremony.

Some of the most popular and top-selling rappers out right now were nominated in the category including Drake, Jay-Z, Flo Rida and Pitbull.

Drake's 'Take Care' was one of the 10 best selling albums last year according to Billboard. Flo Rida also had one of the top 10 selling albums, with his 'Wild Ones' LP scoring 8.1 million in sales.

Even with no album, Jay-Z remained heavy on our minds last year, with his eight-night Barclays Center grand opening concerts.

But it was Nicki Minaj who kept winning in 2012, selling millions of copies of her 'Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded' effort in addition to landing a primetime gig on 'American Idol' as a judge, scoring a deal with Pepsi and launching a fragrance, among many other accolades.
