Nas has never won a Grammy, even though he's been nominated 18 times.

This year, he's up for four in the categories of Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song for 'Daughters,' Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for 'Cherry Wine' featuring Amy Winehouse, and Best Rap Album for his chart-topping 11th LP 'Life is Good.'

As a guest on Chelsea Lately's show Tuesday night (Feb. 5), he sat down with  Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl and spoke about the biggest night in music coming up on Feb. 10.

"How do you feel like hip-hop is represented at the Grammys?" Dave asks Nas. "It's cool. But I feel it could be a little bit more love though," the rapper states. "Hip-hop is making a lot of noise. It should get some more spotlight."

In the clip, Dave, unfamiliar with how hip-hop beef works, asked Nas to help him understand, considering he's had his fair share of verbal tiffs on wax through the years.

"In the hip-hop world, once you say it you gotta ride with it," Nas explains. "You gotta be true. Hip-hop is really stand-offish. It's really competitive. It's really about who's No.1 all the time and sometimes it gets out of hand, definitely."
