Rapper Macklemore and producer Ryan Lewis have earned what many artists strive to achieve during their career: platinum status.

Just five months after 'Thrift Shop' hit the masses, the song has moved past the 1 million mark in sales. According to Hip-Hop N More, the single sold 304,000 copies this week, bringing the grand total to 1,117,000 units sold.

The horn-heavy, celebratory anthem centered on scoring gems at a thrift shop debuted on Macklemore and Ryan Lewis' debut LP, 'The Heist.' The set arrived in October 2012, selling 78,000 copies in its first week and subsequently topped the Billboard charts.

The Seattle-based independent rapper saw more mainstream interest once the song's video, which was directed by Lewis, debuted. The visual has upwards of 42 million views on YouTube.

'Thrift Shop' currently rests at No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100.
