Lupe Fiasco Named Higi Creative Director
No word on how hands-on Fiasco will be with the company. The Chicago-based center uses a “wellness” score (aka the “higi score”) to gauge clients’ health vitals including, body mass index, blood pressure and weight to provide a lifestyle plan to encourage a long-lasting life.
Fiasco went on Twitter today, after a six-month hiatus, to announce his partnership with the company. “I’m happy to announce I’ve come aboard as Creative Director with @higi the wellness score helping Americans live better!” he tweeted.
Justin Rodriguez, higi’s product designer and senior sartorial advisor, also introduced Fiasco to his wellness team. “Its cool to go from being a fan of your music to now having you on our team @LupeFiasco. Welcome to @higi! Let’s do this,” he wrote.
Fiasco and higi will make their presence felt at the South by Southwest music festival in Austin, Texas this weekend. The ‘Kick, Push’ rapper will debut a mobile application on March 10, which will provide more information and interactive services related to the health and wellness company.
Fiasco has always been consistent with giving fans’ food for thought with his music and now he plans to motivate the body thanks to higi’s interactive healthy lifestyle plans.
The rapper hasn’t abandon music altogether. He’s currently working on his new album, ‘Tetsuo & Youth,’ and he just released a throwaway track, ‘Blue Light,’ to help him get back to recording new songs for the collection.
