Lil Scrappy Losing VH1 Checks to Garnishment

As the debut episode of 'Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta' draws nearer, fans of the franchise are hoping this season starts off with an even bigger bang than the last. Lil Scrappy, one of the show's biggest stars, is already feeling the bang -- to his wallet.

According to TMZ, the Atlanta rapper is having his checks from the show garnished because of an unpaid debt spanning three years.

Reportedly, Scrappy went to court in 2010 over a dispute with the concert booking company, Heavy Rotation.

Things did not go in his favor and the rapper was responsible for paying Heavy Rotation $72,218.68.

Of course, he never settled the balance with the company. But while the world can watch him every Monday on VH1's 'LHH:ATL,' he can't argue that he isn't making an income.

Since 2010, the balance has increased approximately $30,000 to $108,510.38 with interest and attorney's fees.

Instead of sitting on their hands, waiting on Scrappy to send a couple dollars their way, Heavy Rotation has arranged with a Georgia court to garnish large amounts of Scrappy's VH1 checks before he can even touch them -- until the debt's settled.

The season hasn't even begun and 'Tha Grustle' creator is already knee-deep in drama.

'Love & Hip-Hop: ATL' premieres its second season on April 22 on VH1 at 8 pm EST.
