King Louie is on the mend after being shot in the head in Chicago on Wednesday (Dec. 23). On Christmas Day, the 28-year-old rhymer went on Instagram to ask his fans to keep him in their thoughts.

In a photo, King L is wearing a Santa Claus hat and posing on his hospital bed. "MERRY XMAS 2 ALL .... ALL I WANT 4 XMAS IS 4 EVERYBODY 2 KEEP ME N THEIR PRAYERS .....IM STAYING STRONG 4 MY FAMILY & THOSE WHO R PRAYING 4 ME .....THANK U ALL," he wrote in the caption.

King Louie's management also issued a statement reassuring fans that the "Roll Up" rapper is doing well.

"King Louie and his family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and support during this unfortunate time," his management said in an emailed statement to NBC Chicago. "He wants his fans, friends and family to know that he is alive and recovering and is thankful for the support."

Meanwhile, King Louie had one prestigious figure visit him at the hospital. The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan met with King L and a photo was captured for posterity.

"I wanna send thanks to everyone for their prayers & support! A special thank you to The Honorable Minister Farrakhan for the blessings & prayers," wrote King L on his Instagram account.
