Kids These Days were meant to be. The seven-member band, which combines the sounds of jazz, funk and rock, have been making music since their tender high school days with Vic Mensa as the lyrical frontman. They released their first EP, ‘Hard Times,’ in 2011 -- the project featured music recorded when they were 15.

They funky set went on tour, performing their unique style and getting attention from major labels. Now all in their early 20s, the Chicago crew released ‘Traphouse Rock,’ their first album, in October. With ‘Don’t Harsh My Mellow’ being their lead single, the track is a youthful and rebellious "let me be me" affirmation to naysayers against their movement.
