Before he was rapping, Kendrick Lamar had hoop dreams.

The rapper visited 'Chelsea Lately' Thursday (Aug. 29) to chat with host Chelsea Handler about his initial career hopes, how he views rapping like basketball and likened his verse on 'Control' to a competitive sport. "I basically wanted to show that I'm competitive," he said on his now-famous verse. "When you get out on the basketball court...and you playing..."

Before he could finish, the saucy host asked him, "What the f--- do you know about basketball?" Kendrick laughed it off and said, "Before music, I wanted to be Michael Jordan." However, his diminutive 5-foot, 6-inch stature killed those dreams. "I have a lot of insight on hooping, whether you see it or not."

The 'good kid, m.A.A.d city' creator went on to talk about Miley Cyrus' racy MTV Video Music Awards performance, his come-up in Compton with partying parents and his sexual exploits in the family van.
