Season two of Empire won't be boring in the least as some of your favorite rappers and singers keep getting added to the show. After Chris Rock, Alicia Keys, Lenny Kravitz and Ne-Yo joined the star-studded new season, Kelly Rowland will team up with Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson on the hip-hopera.

E! reports that the singer has signed on to play the role of Lucious Lyon's mother. During season one, Lyon, played by Terrance Howard, routinely experienced flashbacks of his childhood. This season, he will have one that features Rowland as his mother.

No details have been released regarding this particular scene nor how long Rowland will appear on the show. Last month, rumors circulated regarding Rowland's involvement with Empire when she was sighted hanging out with the writers of the show. "Hey, @KELLYROWLAND! Thank you for spending some time with the #Empire writers," the Empire Writers tweeted along with a photo of the crew with the former Destiny's Child member.

The addition of Rowland certainly bolsters the star power of the show. A few months ago, FOX was apparently courting the likes of Eminem and Oprah to appear on the second season. While some may consider that a pipe dream, it doesn't seem far-fetched when it comes to Empire. Who are you most excited to see star on season two?

Empire season two arrives Sept. 23.
