Kanye West’s forthcoming album, ‘Yeezus,’ isn’t even out, but experts are already predicting that it’ll have a huge first week in sales.

Chart leader Billboard predicts that ‘Ye’s set could sell 500,000 copies in its first week. Billboard shares how forecasters came up with this figure: “Basically, these skilled sources make it their business to crunch numbers all day long. Sales forecasts, such as this one for ‘Yeezus,’ are based on early orders from retailers, first-week performance of comparable albums, media exposure, radio and YouTube trends for an album’s first single, and so forth. These sources each have their own forecast model, so to speak, that helps generate sales projections.”

Historically, its recent forecasts have been low. Experts guessed that Justin Timberlake’s ‘The 20/20 Experience’ would push 500,000 copies in its debut week and the project instead sold a whopping 968,000 copies in its first week. So ‘Ye’s album could sell even more than 500,000 units.
