Stop the press! Kanye West smiles at the paparazzi. Yes, the rapper-producer was cordial with photographers the other day and TMZ caught the historical moment on video.

In the clip, Yeezy is seen on his cell phone as he was leaving a building in Los Angeles. The shutterbugs -- still keeping their distance -- surround him and start taking photos. One cameraman decides to ask him a dumb question about whether journalist Katie Couric is a fake media friend.

Then, it happened.

As West enters his awaiting car, he looks up at the cameraman and smiles.

"Love ya, Kanye," the photog says to him.

Before 'Ye leaves, he tells the other photographers outside that the guy is giving them a bad name.

This is the second time West has smiled while the photographers were around snapping pictures. The last time we saw the 'Throne' rapper grinning was when he was with his boo Kim Kardashian and baby daughter North heading inside a medical facility in Los Angeles.

Hopefully, this is a sign that West is getting more comfortable with the nagging paparazzi.

Last week, West escaped felony assault charges in a case stemming from a July 19 incident in which he tussled with a cameraman at LAX.

In the end, it's great to see Kanye West smiling again.
