Kanye West Enlists Rick Rubin for ‘Yeezus’
Kanye West may be bringing in legendary producer Rick Rubin to help put finishing touches on his upcoming album, ‘Yeezus.’
According to Page Six, Ye called the production heavyweight, who has worked with the likes of Jay-Z (’99 Problems’), the Beastie Boys (‘Rock Hard’) and Adele (‘Don’t You Remember’). Rick Rubin will reportedly be the album’s executive producer.
Additionally, the newspaper says that Kanye was desperately tracking down the choir director and members of the Holy Name of Mary Church choir from Chicago to get clearance for vocals on the song ‘Onsite’ from the album. Eventually, Ye used another choir because of clearance issues.
When he wasn’t working on his album, Kanye headlined the annual Governors Ball in NYC Sunday night. The night before, the rapper celebrated his 36th birthday at Miss Lily’s Jamaican restaurant in downtown NYC with the likes of Hov, Beyonce and Nas. Ye’s boo Kim Kardashian was not in the house because she is apparently unable to fly due to her pregnancy.
‘Yeezus’ is due June 18.
