Jimmy McMillan, a man running for mayor of New York City, has a new campaign song and it showcases him rapping.

If you’re not familiar with Jimmy McMillan, he ran for mayor in 2005 and 2009, and for governor and senator in 2010. He's known for the infamous catchphrase “the rent is too damn high” -- he's also the founder of the Rent Is Too Damn High Party. If you’re a New Yorker, you can agree with this sentiment.

Now that McMillan is running for office again, he teamed up with Animal New York to get some assistance writing his new campaign song.

The song is titled… you guessed it, ‘The Rent Is Too Damn High.” The track explains McMillan's frustration with exorbitant rent prices in addition to education and poverty. His flow is not on Jay-Z’s level but the song isn’t entirely too bad, it's kind of catchy.

"Rent is too damn high / I say the rent is too damn high / I'm Jimmy McMillan, 2013 / I'm running for mayor, come and run with me," he raps over a horn-driven beat.

The visual for the song has McMillan at various iconic locations in New York City including Yankee Stadium and Brooklyn Bridge, all while he has locals chanting his catchphrase.
