Jessica Sanchez, an 'American Idol' alum, has been making some major career moves -- and she isn't close to being done. Having recently returned to the show to perform her new single 'Tonight' alongside Ne-Yo, the songstress is prepping for her appearance on 'Glee.'

The 17-year-old California native will appear on two episodes, set to air on May 2 and 9. According to Sanchez, she'll be in the role of “a student from a rival school who’s this legendary diva powerhouse singer.”

Sanchez told The Hollywood Reporter, "I love to be creative -- that's what the entertainment business is about."

"You have to be out there sometimes," she continued. "'Glee' is so colorful and unexpected with everything. I'm really excited to see what they have planned for those episodes."

A few days before her acting debut, though, the chanteuse will be releasing her first LP, 'Me, You and the Music,' on April 30.

The lead single 'Tonight' was co-written by Ne-Yo, who she said was surprisingly a fan of hers before they met. Sanchez said that it was simply a matter of her reaching out to the crooner's team, and he gladly accepted the opportunity to contribute to the newcomer's album.

“I wanted to make it perfect for the fans and supporters that have been waiting for the music,” she shared. “If I had rushed it, this wouldn't have happened with Ne-Yo. It's all about timing.”
