Jennifer Lopez Will Return to ‘American Idol,’ Boyfriend Confirms

Jennifer Lopez's boyfriend slipped up by confirming the singer's return to 'American Idol' next season.

Casper Smart may not be so smart. When E! News asked if Lopez would be returning for the reality singing competition's 13th season, he responded with a "Yes," even though Fox has not made the official announcement yet.

It's no surprise that Jenny, who was an 'Idol' judge back in 2011, and 2012, would be returning since rumors were already floating around.

"Returning to 'American Idol' makes sense for Jennifer this season," a source shares, "as the show's schedule will allow her to focus on new film and TV projects" at the same time. "And, of course, her twins are starting school this year and she will have time for her family."

The new season will start taping next month and will premiere in January 2014.
