Jay-Z continues to expand his musical creativity in new ways and this time, he's adding his expertise to score a film adaptation of a classic novel.

'The Great Gatsby,' authored by F. Scott Fitzgerald, will come to the big screen May 10. Hov will score the Baz Luhrmann-directed film along with Jeymes Samuel of the Bulitts -- his music is known for having a cinematic feel.

Samuel, who's the brother of singer Seal, announced the collaboration via Twitter on Monday (Dec. 31). "Z and myself have been working tirelessly on the score for the upcoming #CLASSIC The Great Gatsby! It is too DOPE for words!" he reportedly wrote. The tweet has since been deleted.

Thus far, 'No Church in the Wild,' a track appearing on Jay-Z and Kanye West's 'Watch the Throne' LP, is featured in the current trailer for 'The Great Gatsby.'

Bossman Jigga is also set to be involved in the music for the remake of 'Annie,' a film starring Roc Nation's own Willow Smith.

No word on specifics of the score of the upcoming film, but it's sure to be something to look forward to as the May release for 'The Great Gatsby' approaches.

The Bullits, comprised of Samuel and a host of guest musicians, are working on a forthcoming album, 'They Die By Dawn and Other Short Stories,' featuring narrations by entertainers and artists such as Lucy Liu, Jay Electronica and Mos Def.
