While fans of both the Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs were biting their nails over game five of the NBA Finals, the intensity was interrupted by a surprising announcement made by Jay-Z during halftime.

With the help of Samsung (not an iPhone fan?), the rapper announced that his 12th LP, 'Magna Carta Holy Grail,' will be dropping on July 4.

The black-and-white 3-minute video features clips of Jay in the studio working with Rick Rubin, Swizz Beatz, Pharrell and Timbaland.

"The album is about this duality," he tells Rick in the TV spot. "How do you navigate your way through this whole thing through success, through failures and remain yourself?"

Talking about where he sees hip-hop going, Jay-Z claims that his team will be writing "the new rules" for the genre with this album. From brainstorming sessions, listening to cuts and even putting finishing touches on the art, fans get a chance to see the work surrounding 'Magna Carta Holy Grail.'

And with the hype around the LP soaring in the last 12 hours, reports detail that Jay-Z has already sold his first million copies. According to the Wall Street Journal's Speakeasy blog, Samsung has already pre-ordered a million copies of the album to give out to Samsung Galaxy users for free three days before it releases. All Galaxy users need to do is download the official Magna Carta app on June 24, and they will be able to get it for free, according to the album's official site.
