Jamie Foxx Becomes a Hero After Saving Man from Burning Car
Jamie Foxx may have played a villain in The Amazing Spiderman 2 but he’s a hero in real life. The Ray actor pulled a driver from a burning car that crashed outside of his home in Hidden Valley, Calif.
According to TMZ, the wreck happened on Monday night (Jan. 18) around 8:30PM. A representative for Foxx told People that the “Gold Digger” singer hurried to the scene after calling 911 and dragged the driver 30 feet away from the accident in case the car blew up.
Cops and firefighters arrived later to transport the victim, identified as 32-year-old Bryan Kyle, to a hospital to treat his major injuries, including burns.
Witnesses outside of the home also gave their account of what happened to the police.
“Two witnesses that were near the collision scene ran to the burning, overturned truck in an attempt to free the driver,” police said in a statement. “One of the witnesses retrieved a rescue tool from his vehicle allowing the two citizens to break the window, cut the seat belt, and extricate the driver.”
The police also said that the driver was later “arrested for driving under the influence.” Yikes.
Foxx has not yet commented on the incident but either way we commend the actor and singer for his heroic act. The 48-year-old just wrapped his latest film, Sleepless Night, and will begin production on Robin Hood: Origins soon.
