The fan who blackmailed J. Cole on Twitter yesterday is now enjoying a nice visit from the police.

TMZ shares that the fan, who posted a photo of himself threatening to shoot his little sister if Cole didn’t re-tweet him, is being investigated by Texas authorities.

The site reports that the 19-year-old blackmailer in question “is cooperating and it seems this was just a bad lapse in judgment.” Police also say that the gun in the picture he’s brandishing is a BB gun, not an actual handgun.

The police rep also says, “For now this is still an open investigation, and for the time being no charges are being filed.”

TMZ spoke to the teen, who seemed sorry about the incident. “I’d like to apologize to America for the photo and to put J. Cole in that position. It was all a joke,” he said.
