Fresh off his eerie track 'Twilight Zone,' Sean Garrett is preparing for the release of his new mixtape, 'The Inkwell 2.' A look in his direction proves he takes pride in his appearance -- this man takes no days off from the gym -- but more importantly, even more goes into his work as a singer, songwriter and producer.

Three years ago, his first tape, 'The Inkwell,' debuted. This time around, the follow-up effort will be replete with some powerful bangers.

"I definitely want to make sure it's action-packed," he tells TheDrop.fm. "I've been getting from fans, 'Yo, Sean, when are you going to do another mixtape?' I enjoy really being sort of a mixtape artist. It gives you the opportunity to be really free and deal directly with the consumer and deal directly with the fans. Doing records sort of organically not necessarily in a box or you having to worry about the different people involved making you stay in this certain box."

As a producer and songwriter who's worked with the likes of Beyonce, Janet Jackson, Jay-Z, Usher and Nicki Minaj on one hand and Miley Cyrus, Britney Spears and Gwen Stefani on the other, his creative juices are constantly flowing in different directions. After all, they don't call him "The Pen" for nothing.

"This is why I love this time in 2013 because artists can be truly artists and be creative," Garrett shares.

The singer, who dubs his sound "futuristic R&B" and "the kind of music rappers can relate to," takes some time from crafting his new project to partake in TheDrop.fm's Go Fishing series. In the video above, find out what he has to say about meeting Miley Cyrus in the studio for the first time, which athlete he identifies with most, what he finds himself doing more of these days and which West Coast emcee created his favorite hip-hop album.
