This downtown restaurant is a given if Atlanta tourists are hoping to spot R&B celebrities stuffing their faces with soul food.

The franchise was started by legendary singers Gladys Knight and Ron Winans in 1997, and though there are actually two locations -- one being on the city's East Side -- the Gladys Knight downtown spot is the one to frequent if you like to people-watch.

The food is pretty great too -- from the fried green tomatoes to the much-heralded macaroni and cheese -- patrons can indulge in country-fried everything while looking at framed photos of celebrities like John Legend, who've been regular guests at Gladys'.
