After winning a BRIT Award for Best International Male Solo Artist this year, securing a slot at the Wireless Festival and being invited to play a special one-off show in London, Frank Ocean is clearly loved abroad. And he will be adding another new gig to his 2013 calendar: headlining the Hove Festival in Norway.

"Frank Ocean has been on the top of our wish list for a long time and in many ways it is a dream come true," says festival head booker Toffen Gunnufsen told Gigwise. "Frank Ocean is a groundbreaking artist and manages to cross the lines between genres and conventions -- something that makes him a perfect artist for our festival."

This isn't Ocean's first Norwegian festival. He was at last year's Oya Festival in Oslo. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to give a full performance because he lost his voice during his set and consequently walked off stage. The crowd didn't appreciate Ocean's exit and started booing the 'Forest Gump' singer.

So it looks like this Hove Festival appearance could be more than a sweet headline gig but also a form of redemption for last year's disappointment.

The Hove Festival will take place July 2 - 5 on the island of Tromøya, which is located in southern Norway.
