Drake may be Young Money for life, but even he was surprised by the new Big Tymers reunion.

Drizzy was asked by MTV's RapFix if he was going to be a part of the upcoming effort with Birdman, Lil Wayne and possibly Mannie Fresh. "I didn't get the phone call about that," admitted Drake, still confused by the project.

Though nothing seems set in stone, the rapper shared that fans sent him hate mail when they heard about his involvement, telling him, "You'll never be a Big Tymer!"

He may or may not be on it, but the Toronto rhymer seemed excited about the prospect of a Big Tymers reunion. In fact, he wished he had reunited the original members at his OVO Fest in Toronto. "Yeah. I would've loved to bring the Big Tymers out... Maybe I'll save that for next year," he said.

'Nothing Was the Same,' his third LP, is set to arrive Sept. 17. Songs like 'Hold On, We're Going Home' and 'Started from the Bottom' will be featured on the effort.
