Dawn Richard Shows Off Her ‘Goldenheart’ at Gramercy Theatre in New York City [Photos]
New Orleans singer, songwriter and performer Dawn Richard brought the house down last night (May 28) at New York City’s Gramercy Theatre for an intimate and stellar show.
Whether you know Richard from her solo career or from the group Danity Kane, one thing there is to know is that this woman does not play when she hits the stage. Like a modern day Wonder Woman, Richard brings fierceness, confidence, attitude and a whole lot of energy during her live show.
The crowd was revitalized as Richard performed tracks from her new album, ‘Goldenheart.’ ‘Northern Lights' and ‘Frequency’ were just a couple of the new songs she touched on. Fans also belted out infectious tracks such as ‘Bombs’ and ‘Automatic,’ off of her 2012 EP, ‘Armor On.'
It’s no surprise where she gets her energy and sass from, as her vibrant mother, Mrs. Richard, was grooving and dancing to her daughter’s music with a prideful and radiant expression throughout the night.
With Danity Kane trending on Twitter, the songstress humorously addressed the moment and sang snippets of ‘Damaged’ and ‘Show Stopper.’ With or without Danity Kane, Dawn Richard's contagious sound and magnetic personality continues to make her a serious force in the music industry.
Hometown girl and Brooklyn siren Adriana Louise, who was a contestant on 'The Voice' Season 3, opened up the show and kicked off the soulful night with some powerful melodies.
