Cortez Shaw Adds Flair to ‘Titanium’ on ‘American Idol’

Arguably the most interesting performance of the night, Cortez Shaw turned David Guetta's 'Titanium' into a ballad.

Keith Urban called the move "bold" because he changed the overall tone of the song, but it gave him the opportunity to show off his range. So it worked out.

When we talk about strategy on 'Idol,' this is what we're talking about. Making changes in the chords of the song to better suit your voice and what you can do as a singer was a smart move by the young man.

Fortunately for him, it got him to the next round.
