“I just wanted to have a conversation,” said Lupe Fiasco to MTV News in August about the inspiration to create his ‘Bitch Bad’ video. And sure enough, this preachy-ish track off his ‘Food & Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album, Vol.1’ LP did end up being a conversation piece for its examination of the mighty “b” word -- not to mention its misogynistic effects within and outside of hip-hop. Some met the video with praise; others, like Spin writer Brandon Soderberg, called it “moronic,” prompting Fiasco to ask fans for a boycott of the publication. Pay special attention to the three little girls watching a fake rap video in the clip, then judge for yourself.
