Ciara Served With Legal Papers at Los Angeles Concert
R&B songbird Ciara was served with a lawsuit while she was performing at an L.A. Pride concert Saturday (April 8).
TMZ was in Los Angeles to capture the moment when a female process server handed the 'Body Party' singer legal papers. CiCi simply threw the papers back at her like, "Bitch, don't kill my vibe," and continued on with her performance.
Apparently, a Los Angeles gay bar is suing Ciara for allegedly reneging on her contract with the venue.
The owners of the Factory claim that the Atlanta native backed out of her appearance at the last minute, which left them without a major star for their pre-L.A. Pride party. The Factory is seeking damages for loss of profits and monies used to promote her appareance at the venue.
However, a rep for Ciara said the lawsuit is bogus because no contract was ever finalized.
"Despite being notified...that Ciara could not appear, the Factory continued to market and promote Ciara's appearance," said the rep. "The reason for the continued marketing/promotion is unclear, as it is not known why the Factory would intend to continue to mislead the public, to cause damage to the L.A. Gay Pride festival and to attempt to portray Ciara in a negative light."
Attorneys for Ciara had no comment on the matter.
