On Wednesday night's episode (Oct. 2) of 'The X Factor,' the competition heated up as judges Kelly Rowland, Simon Cowell, Demi Lovato and Paulina Rubio were forced to send the first group of eliminated contestants home. The night started with 40 finalists, but only 16 made it to the next round.
Last night (Sept 27) on 'The X Factor,' there were a few auditions left before the Top 40 were revealed, including the categories of boys, girls, over 25s and groups. The judges were also selected to mentor one category each.

'The X Factor' hit some of America's biggest cities in search for more talent in this season's second episode and the show started off a little rocky as a result.
