Whether you're a Jay-Z stan or a hater, you have to admit the man is a genius for winning in every move that he makes. And of course, celebrating the grand opening of the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., with eight shows wouldn't be the exception. Before the arena opened in his hometown in September, Shawn Carter announced he would be performing at the shows, and they sold out shortly after. Donning his own version of the official Brookyn Nets jersey, the rap veteran rapped through his catalog of hits for fans who came from all over to witness the historic moment for both hip-hop and New York.

Although he kept all special guest features on the hush, he surprised concert goers with appearances from Brooklyn's own and Jigga's mentor, Big Daddy Kane, long-time friend Memphis Bleek and his partner-in-crime-wife Beyonce. And he couldn't end the final show without a high-tech video message from the Notorious B.I.G. Who knew that hip-hop could take it this far?
