Beyonce kicked off the U.S. leg of her Mrs. Carter World Tour in Los Angeles Friday (June 28) at the Staples Center. And, as expected, the concert was a tour de force.

Idolator was in the house to watch the entire spectacle, which the music website described as a "concert extravaganza in the style of Michael Jackson or Madonna."

The R&B mom spared no expenses to give audiences a fantastic show that was filled with pyrotechnics, on-time choreography, extravagant costumes and eye-popping visuals on the big screen.

She performed a bevy of her chart-topping songs including 'Run the World (Girls),' 'Baby Boy,' 'If I Were a Boy,' 'Get Me Bodied,' 'Crazy in Love' and '1+1' among many others.

Among the highlights were Queen Bey's Las Vegas-style performance of 'Party,' her Michael Jackson tribute cover 'Dirty Diana' and the showstopper 'Why Don't You Love Me.'

The songstress didn't sing any new tunes -- not even the just-released 'Standing on the Sun' -- but she did perform the Internet-leaked 'Grown Woman.'

She ended her two-hour-long concert with the Whitney Houston tribute 'I Will Always Love You' matched with her inspirational anthem 'Halo.'

Overall, according to Idolator, Beyonce's The Mrs. Carter Show showcased an icon at top of her game.
