Beyonce has been taking over lately with performances at the Presidential Inauguration and Super Bowl, announcement of a new tour and her HBO documentary 'Life Is But a Dream', which airs Saturday. The mother of Blue Ivy and wife of rapper Jay-Z is also making an appearance on 'Oprah's Next Chapter.'

In a clip promoting the show, the 17-time Grammy winner sits in the hot seat and opens up to Oprah about her relationship to Hov.

"I would not be the woman I am if I did not go home to that man," she said.

Once tight-lipped about her romance with the Brooklyn rhymer and details of how they became a couple, she now dishes on the earliest phase of their union.

"We were friends first for a year-and-a-half before we even went on a date," Bey shares. "We were on the phone for a year-and-a-half and that foundation is so important in a relationship. And just to have someone that you just like, you know, it's so important and someone that is honest."

Beyonce's interview on 'Oprah's Next Chapter' debuts Feb. 16 at 8/7c.
