Rejoice Black Hippy fans. Ab-Soul is working on a follow-up to 'Control System,' and last night he released a potential leak from the project. 'Christopher DRONEr' is the single's name, and it's produced by longtime collaborator Willie B.

'Christopher DRONEr,' named after the renegade Los Angeles cop Christopher Dorner, features Ab-Soul continuing from his paranoid conspiracist standpoint as he manages to fit cultural awareness, politics and braggadocio in the song seamlessly.

In fact, he skillfully fits aspects of all three within a few lines: "My d--- look like a spaceship, 'Stairway to Heaven' on my playlist / On 9/11 I called 9-1-1 and the voice recording said this."

The hook -- "Bunch of f--- drones, bunch of drones / Can't think for your own" -- comes right after. Ab-Soul sounds frantic, but doesn't once lose control even though it sounds like he's teetering on the edge of doing so.

The beat draws its influence from Tom Hedden's 'A New Game,' which football fans know from the NFL Films soundtrack. The instrumentals in this context gives 'Christopher DRONer' a sense of urgency rather than the atmospheric feeling of its source material.

There's still little details on Ab-Soul's upcoming project, but it goes along with co-Black Hippy member Schoolboy Q's 'Oxymoron' as another much anticipated hip-hop release.
